FAQs
REIKI ENERGY HEALING

What is Reiki and how can it support you?
Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy healing practice that supports relaxation, emotional balance, and stress reduction. At Reikindled Light in Centennial, Colorado, Reiki is offered both in person and at a distance to help clients feel calmer, clearer, and more connected to themselves... especially during times of anxiety, grief, or life transition.
Reiki works with the body’s natural energy system, helping it return to balance so healing and insight can unfold more naturally. You do not need to believe in Reiki for it to work... simply being open to receiving is enough.
Is Reiki a religion?
No. Reiki is not a religion and does not require any specific spiritual belief. It is a gentle energy-based practice that works with the body’s natural healing systems. People of all backgrounds receive Reiki for stress relief, emotional support, and well-being.
What is Reiki used for?
People often receive Reiki for:
-
Stress and anxiety
-
Emotional overwhelm
-
Grief and loss
-
Chronic tension
-
Fatigue or burnout
-
Feeling disconnected or “off”
-
Support during life changes
Many people also use Reiki alongside therapy, medical care, or personal growth work.
How does Reiki work?
Reiki works by gently channeling universal life-force energy through the practitioner’s hands to the recipient. This supports balance within the body, mind, and emotions, helping the nervous system relax so healing can occur naturally.

What happens during a Reiki session?
You will lie fully clothed on a comfortable table while the practitioner places their hands gently on or just above your body. Sessions typically last 60–90 minutes, depending on the service.
What will I feel during Reiki?
Everyone experiences Reiki differently. You may notice warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, emotional release, imagery, or a sense of peace and clarity. All experiences are normal and supportive.
Is Reiki safe?
Yes. Reiki is gentle and non-invasive. It is safe for most people, including those who are pregnant. Reiki can complement medical treatment but does not replace professional care.
Can Reiki be done at a distance?
Yes. Distance Reiki is just as effective as in-person sessions. Reiki is not limited by physical space, allowing energy to be shared wherever you are.
Can animals receive Reiki?
Yes. Animals are often especially receptive to Reiki. Sessions honor their comfort and allow them to receive in a way that feels safe and natural.

Is Reiki scientifically proven?
Reiki is considered a complementary healing practice. Research shows that Reiki supports relaxation and stress reduction, which helps the body’s natural healing systems function more effectively. Many hospitals and wellness centers now include Reiki as supportive care.
Can Reiki help with anxiety, depression, or trauma?
Many people use Reiki to support emotional well-being, including anxiety, grief, and trauma. Reiki helps calm the nervous system and gently release stored emotional tension.
How is Reiki different from massage or talk therapy?
Reiki is not physical manipulation or talk-based. You don’t need to explain or analyze what you’re feeling. Reiki works quietly and gently through energy and nervous-system support.
How quickly does Reiki work?
Some people feel changes after one session; others notice gradual improvement over time. Ongoing sessions can deepen the effects.
Is Reiki just placebo?
Even skeptical people often experience real relaxation and emotional relief. Reiki works whether or not you believe in it.
Why do people feel emotional after Reiki?
Reiki can release stored emotional and energetic tension. Feeling emotional, peaceful, or tired afterward is a normal part of balancing.
How do I know if Reiki is right for me?
If you feel stressed, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply want gentle support, Reiki may be helpful. You don’t need a specific problem... many people come simply to feel better and more aligned.
