Sanctuary Within: Finding Your Place of Peace Within

Life doesn't always give us quiet when we need it.

The holidays, relationships, responsibilities, expectations, and simply being human can leave the world around us feeling especially loud. But what if peace isn't something we always have to find outside of ourselves? What if peace is found within our inner connection?

For this evening of The Gathering, we'll explore the idea of creating... and learning to return to a sanctuary within.

Featured Guest Phyllis Harvey will introduce us to Yoga Nidra, a deeply restful guided practice that invites us away from the noise of the outside world and into a quieter place within ourselves. She'll then guide us through a Yoga Nidra experience designed to help us discover what that inner sanctuary might feel like for each of us.

We'll then spend some time reflecting on the experience and creatively capturing our sanctuary on paper. Yours might appear as a place, colors, symbols, words, feelings, light, or something entirely unexpected. There is no right way for it to look.

The intention isn't simply to create a peaceful picture. It's to begin recognizing a place within yourself that you can remember and return to when life becomes stressful, overwhelming, or simply too loud.

As always, you don't need any particular spiritual belief or previous experience to participate. Come as you are, experience the practice, and see what you discover within.

ABOUT OUR FEATURED GUEST

Phyllis ("Filly) Harvey is a certified practitioner dedicated to creating safe spaces for restoration. Her practice, Tri Resonance, was born from her own personal journey through stress from working in the law enforcement field for 34 years, compounded by difficulties with fertility and being a survivor of domestic violence.

In 2018, she realized she was burnt out... not sleeping well, overeating and beyond stressed out. She went on a search for true alignment. What she found changed her life for the better.

Through mindfulness, Reiki, meditation and vibrational sound therapy, Filly learned how to reset her nervous system. This lit a spark in her to help others in the same way her teachers and practitioners had helped her. Even with it being the height of the COVID pandemic, Filly opened Tri Resonance’s doors to provide these healing modalities to my community in Lone Tree and nearby South Denver neighborhoods.

Whether you've been exploring spirituality for years or are simply beginning to ask deeper questions, The Gathering offers a welcoming space to connect, explore, create, and enjoy meaningful conversations with women from all walks of life.

Each gathering is a little different. We may explore a topic together, learn from a guest, create something, meditate, experience a healing art, or simply spend time together in meaningful conversation and community.
